Year 7 students in Heathfield, Year 6 students at West Monkton CE Primary school and students in Ghana were set the challenge of answering:
What does it mean to be British? and What does it mean to be Ghanain? in 2009.

Students in Year 6 at West Monkton Primary School approached this from a different angle. The students wrote poems about each other describing aspects of their lives here in Britain. Their poems were inspired by Benjamin Zephania's collection of poems called "We are Britain" It tells the story of Britain in poetry through the eyes of children who come from different backgrounds and locations.
